Post World War Two America:

This course will examine the tumultuous years of the second half of the twentieth century. How did the United States become a world superpower despite the internal challenges of the civil rights movement, the student protests of the 1960s, Watergate and the external challenges of the Cold War, the Space Race and the rise of terrorism?

May 12: Vietnam Map (Finish questions during next class)
Due May 12: Civil Rights Project (Unit Test Grade)
April 29: If you have not finished two of the 5 web quest sections, please do so for homework. We will finish the web quest in class Friday. 
April 15: Finish Brown v. Board Activity as assigned in class. Study for Vocabulary Quiz.
April 9: Please read the following: State of Black America in 1960 and complete the vocabulary.

End Quarter 3
April 7: Review for Kennedy Years Test (Study Guide linked under Classroom Handouts) - you may have a 3x5 notecard.
April 3: View the info on the Kennedy Assassination to get a basic understanding. Watch the LIFE video clip (watch until around 6 minutes).
March 21 - April 1: Cuban Missile Crisis Vocabulary for Activity. Kennedy Years Notes from lecture.
For February 28th - March 19: Please see the Magazine Project link above for activities each day and homework assignments/deadlines.
February 28: Formal Outline for your Feature Article w/4 properly cited sources. Study for Vocabulary Quiz. I have put your words on QUIZLET! Go under Links and Resources for the Link!
February 26: Feature Article Proposal 
February 24: Finish Cold War Vocabulary if you did not have this done. Due Friday for Red 1, Due Wednesday for Red 2 & 4. Write and complete your Advertisement Analysis for your chosen magazine. The examples from class are provided in the Keynote from class today, linked under the Magazine Section of the website. The guidelines and grading rubric were handed out in class today and are also available digitally in the same Magazine Section. 
February 11: Finish Cold War Vocabulary If you missed the movie in class, it can be found on YouTube/is linked under Links and Resources. The question sheet is only available on paper, and can be found in the classroom or from me. 
February 7: Korean War Digital History Textbook Reading and Writing Prompt
February 3: Red 1 - You should have a total of 11 words defined. Red 2 - Read your document and answer the questions. Red 4 - Remember to bring your article back to class with you for further discussion/use.
January 30: Please look up and define, in your own words, five of the words on the Cold War Vocabulary Sheet (found under classroom handouts).
January 28: If you are new to me this semester, please have your course expectations sheet signed by a parent and returned to me.
